***Hey guys, given my time constraints from school, Logan suggested trying out a new style: Catfish's Quick Hits.  Granted, I may not be able to do this every Monday, but it takes a ton less time then a formal review.  So here we go...***

I got this Sindicato at IPCPR from the Jim Collucci after doing an interview.  Knowing I love mild cigars, Jim handed me a few of his Affinity line to try out.  I sat down with a cup of Yirgacheffe to pair, and I must say I was quite impressed.  The Affinity was super nutty through the nose and palate, mild, creamy, hints of sugar, and a light white pepper finish.  The sugar notes created a sweet cream affect that seemed to roll off the tongue.  There is not much ligero here, but plenty of flavor for me, and a perfect compliment as a morning smoke.  Given my penchant for Connecticut wrapped cigars, very few impress me, and the Affinity is the best I have had from the show thus far.

Rating: Box Split – 92.  I am ranking this a box split, simply because I cannot see this not being in my Conny humidor.  Granted, I may not buy more then a fiver at a time since I do not get the chance to smoke in the morning often, but I could see myself freaking out if I did not have these in my rotation.  This is the best Connecticut I have smoked from the show and a mild lovers dream.

Short and sweet. Great format for the busy schedule.

Ha! I smoked the corona version this weekend, what a coincidence. I completely agree, Dustin. I got lots of warm, toasted nut flavors and tasty marshmallow creme flavor in the first two thirds and it ended on a strong cedar and wood note. Very good. I'd split the other half of this box with ya! ;)

Not usually a Conny fan EXCEPT when pairing with morning coffee, and this sounds like it might do the trick.

For all of the criticism Sindicato has gotten - and a lot of it has been fair criticism, the Affinity is one of the bright spots of the portfolio.  It's a solid cigar and it's one that can really compete with many mild cigars on the market.

(Sounds like the first sentence of an article you're preparing Coop.) lol. It does sound like a tasty cigar.

Creamy, you say?

Super creamy, like as creamy as I can imagine a conny getting really.  Impressive for my tastes.

Great review.  Thinking of sparking one up this morning.

The first half of this cigar had extensive more in the way of cream and citrus, at the same time as the second half was more woody.
