Review: We The People Connecticut

From Marcus Daniel Tobacconist, the We The People Connecticut is a great looking cigar. It is also one of very few cigars that are actually made in the United States of America. They are also very limited in production. As the factory produces less than 200 boxes per month.

Note: For this review I used CigarFederation's rating system.

Prelight: The prelight aroma is quite spicy for a Connecticut. There is a strong spicy cedar note. The cold draw is a much smoother and lighter in profile, and there is also a little bit of a creamy sweetness mixed in there. The cold draw is where the Connecticut profile shows.

Beginning: As expected from the cold draw, this We The People Connecticut starts off mildly creamy with a woody background. The retrohale provides a nice combination of light spice and creaminess, adding depth to the profile. Nice burn and a tight ash make this Connecticut quite good.

Middle: The middle third only changes things up slightly. The creaminess and sweet notes fade back and a woody note comes up to the forefront. There is also a slight nuttiness that starts to come through. Still flavorful and enjoyable, and continuing the quality burn.

End: The end of the We The People Connecticut is pretty much a repeat of the second third, but this isn’t a drawback. It hit right where most people usually want a Connecticut. Woody, creamy and with just a slight amount of bite from the wood and some spice.

Final Thoughts: This is a nicely done Connecticut. Just a tad bit above a mild cigar, but falling short of ever being medium, it stays interesting. It doesn’t have the complexity and boldness of say a AKA Solace or Nomad Connecticut Fuerte and it’s not supposed to. It does have a perfect profile to pair with a morning cup of coffee though. I think it's worth noting that I did smoke more of this than I took pictures of. It's just that with the lengthy smoke time of a churchill...I got distracted.

Looks very interesting don't think I have ever smoked anything made entirely in the US. Churchill's not my thing but thanks for biting the bullet for us, great review!

Not a churchill fan myself, but you gotta smoke what you get. I would have to wager that a smaller vitola would be even better.
