Warped Cigars - El Oso Cub(4x44)
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro
This cigar has a very rich dark brown/rosado wrapper with a few prominent veins with a strong barnyard and coco on the wrapper. The foot smells of sweet herbs. I punch cut this cigar and find a very open draw with a sweet and floral flavor on dry draw.
First 1/3: Starts with a spicy wood blast on the palate and in the nose, very aromatic. Smooth draw (perfect), strait burn, snow white ash, and huge amounts of smoke.
Second 1/3: Has a tangy cedar flavor with black pepper on the retro. There is a smoothness now that reminds me of a creamy coconut.
Final 1/3: Begins to build in strength again with a leather note predominating the 3/3, white pepper on retro and a sweetness that pops in and out, but only in the last third. There is a slight dryness on the palate but its not off putting its kind of a wine-dryness. A clear coffee note ends the cigar.
Medium-full in body and strength. This cigar has HUGE POTENTIAL with excellent construction all the way around, I would have to give this cigar 89+/100.
Just as a note I received this cigar yesterday on a pre-release order from Cigartender so it had no time to rest in my humidor. I normally don't smoke cigars that have just landed on my doorstep but I was so eager to try one and I wasn't disappointed at all. Will be letting the remainder of the "El Oso Cub's" rest for a bit.
