From what I can gather, Uhles Blend #303, is a combination of two other blends. It’s a bit of a simple math problem in itself, as #303 is a mix of blend #71 & # 232. Supposedly, it is blended for the summer months, when blend #232 gets “too heavy”. Well, it’s officially autumn, but it’s still hot as heck here. So, it’s still the season for this blend for me.

Quick Note: To view the Pipe Tobacco rating system used, click here.

Tin/Jar Note: Smokey, deep-sweet molasses and grain.

Visual: Mainly dark colored tobaccos, with some dark tan speckling. The cut is ribbon, and I see some ribbon cuts, but there are a lot of little cubes of the cube cut burley. That honestly look pretty dang neat.

Flavors: Smokey with a bit of that Latakia bite and some nuttiness.

Smoking Experience:

Tobacco Strength: Mild-Medium

Body: Medium

Room Note: Tolerable

Comparable Tobacco: I can’t think of anything.

Conclusion: Not a bad smoke at all. It’s on the mild side of medium, but still has plenty of body. It burned quite well, if not a little bit on the hot side. There was no tongue bite and no gurgling or moisture, which are both great.

Rating: 3 Stars AKA "When it is on Sale" – Wouldn't pay full retail but would purchase it on sale
