I was first introduced to the Täbū Lifestyle Cigars brand when Young was a guest on CigarChat. The concept is straight forward with three offerings as a Gold, Silver, and Bronze in decreasing strength.
The Silver Band is available in three vitolas. A 5”x50 Robusto, 6”x52 Toro, and a 6”x52 Torpedo.
The nose on the Täbū Lifestyle Silver Band was hay, light cedar, barnyard, honey and spices. All of the notes I was picking up were quite subdued.
I used a v-cut, which has become my standard cut for reviews, and found the draw leaning towards the tight spectrum.
The first third starts out with light cedar and a light spicy finish. I found the retrohale to be soft and creamy. Some chocolate molasses develops along with a vegetal note on the retrohale. The spice continues to build in strength as the first third settles in. Some leather starts being introduced into the post draw and a sweet creaminess comes into play to balance it out.
Overall I found the first third to be enjoyable and the flavors to be balanced.
The middle third shows no major profile development, just a continued evolution of the existing flavors. Eventually the leather moves up to a medium level post draw with the main flavors consisting of a creamy cedar with a light spicy chaser.
There is some slight bitterness going into the final third but that fades to a medium to medium plus cedar.
Total smoking time was 1 hour and 55 minutes.
It’s always nice as a reviewer to have no expectations going into a review and then being pleasantly surprised.
The Täbū Lifestyle Silver Band is quite balanced and will appeal to a wide variety of cigar smokers.
Rum, any sort of cola, sweet tea, chocolate stout or even chocolate milk would all be great pairing choices.
