Review: Ramon Allones Petit Unicos RE Canada (Aug.2009)

Ramon Allones Petit Unicos RE Canada (Aug.2009)

Wrapper: Colorado

Origin: Cuba

Size: 5X50 Belicosos

I picked this cigar up 2 years ago on a trip to Canada at a friends cigar shop.

This cigar had amazing construction and perfect shape.

1st  1/3rd:

This cigar had a perfect draw and burn from start to finish. It started with a nice leather and wood note that eventually turned earthy. Through the retrohale it had a nice cinnamon spice that was very well pronounced.

Medium body.

2nd 1/3rd:

So far very consistent and flavorful. Body has picked up to medium plus and strength is medium. The spice on the retro turned in to black pepper and the leather picked up with a meaty undertone on the palate.

Final 1/3rd:

The only change in flavor was a nice cedar wood that might have been from the 5 years in the original box. I love the shape of the cigar its like a 5X50 robusto with a pointed head. By far on my top 5 RE Cuban cigars and is smoking amazing right now, 4.5 years has done this cigar wonders.

I would give this cigar a 91-92 and say it is at its peak right now.

Thanks for reading, (sorry no pic's yet I haven't got my camera back).

Seems to me that Ramon Allones has a distinct honey note as they age. Anything like that here? I really love ages RASS

LOL I always taste the honey, even on the recent production. I got a box of RASS Jan.2013 and everyone so far has had that honey note.
