Review: Nestor Miranda Collection Connecticut (Blue)

After a little hiccup in my schedule last week, sorry about that guys, I continue my way through this collection. I've become a pretty big Connecticut fan the last couple years, so I'm always excited to try new blends. And after a pleasant experience with the Habano, I have great expectations.

These really are some great looking cigars. Clean construction and some nice banding, make for some nice eye candy. The pre-light aroma is very aromatic, with a fair amount of pepper notes and lots of creaminess. Once clipped, the draw was a little tight but not impossible.

The first third provides lots of what makes a Connecticut, a Connecticut. There is a medium level of creaminess, quite a large dose of pepper and a little tinge of cedar. All very tasty, in a smooth mild-medium body, perfect morning smoke. The creaminess really ramps up towards the end of this third, from a medium level, to being very creamy. The finish nice and light too. As the photo shows, the burn and ash were absolutely impeccable.

I seemed to have been enjoying this cigar just a bit, as my notes were quite scarce here. My biggest note? Creamy. Very creamy. Other than that was a continuation from the first third of pepper and cedar. I do remember that the strength came up a bit, to a more medium level. The finish also became quite long, with a medium-full body. Add to that this superb construction and some nice smoke production, and this is quite enjoyable.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record here, but... The creaminess seems to pick up again! Just so creamy. The pepper and spiciness also picked up. Making for a very interesting profile. Decent smoke production and a burn that needed zero touchups, have just been excellent.

Another nubber! The Nestor Miranda Collection Connecticut was a great cigar, with a medium-full body and medium strength level. The extreme creaminess and bold pepper notes kept it from being too mild. I'm surprised to say that I think I liked the Habano a bit more, although I would pick some more of these up ASAP. A solid cigar to have on hand for a daily, morning smoke.

I smoked one of these with Nestor himself and was immediately blown away with how good it was. I am normally not a Connecticut smoker, but this cigar was so good it's made me change my opinion of Connecticuts...I'm not so scared of them now. This is a must buy box for me.

I also smoked the Maduro, bought a box, and I wasn't crazy about the Habano, however my shop sells a 3pk of each one....will have to try it again

It is a damn fine cigar Mickey, and I guess I could see buying a box. Be a great go to cigar for mornings, but I can see myself buying a fiver, not so much a box. Personally, I'd buy a box of Nomad Connecticut Fuerte first. :)

Good stuff> Pass me the cream! Sounds like my kind of cigar.

Remember when the rebranding came out and I loved the look of the bands so when I stumbled on them at my local I grabbed one. Now I wish I would have grabbed more, going to pick some more up. Great review as always sir

Hella Creamy!!!! I enjoyed this one too and I think Jerad is spot on with his breakdown... Lots of cream, some pepper and cedar... I picked up some mild citrus notes in the background as well... great morning smoke...

They say that this is the original CT blend just rebranded. I enjoy the creaminess as well

302JH - Yea, that is it. The old Seleccion blend was re-banded and added into this line.

Charlie - Thanks man! The Habano is my fav as well so far. Maduro review is set for Friday. :)
