Released in 2006, Mac Baren HH Vintage Syrian is a multi-nation, Balkan style blend. At just under 50%, the base of this blend is a powerful Syrian Latakia. It is spiced up by some Turkish Oriental, sweetened with Virginia and given depth with some Kentucky. The smokey/sweet smell is amazing.

Tin/Jar Note: Nice, strong notes of Worcestershire sauce, smoke and smokey dried fruit.
Visual: It’s a mix of dark brown and almost olive colored tobaccos, with a dry appearance. All in a nice crinkly ribbon cut.
Flavors: The Syrian Latakia is definitely in the forefront, but it isn’t too overpowering. The Turkish Oriental shows its spice just a little and the Virginias are really not noticeable.
Smoking Experience: It burned fully, but I had to relight quite often. So, I had to smoke a little quick causing a hot bowl, but it never gurgled or had any bite.
Tobacco Strength: Medium-
Room Note: Pleasant-Tolerable
Conclusion: I enjoyed the flavor profile and the finish of this tobacco, but the constant relighting was not high on my list. It wasn't a deal killer, I'd definitely pick this tobacco up again, but it won't be a go-to.
