Mac Baren's HH series of tobacco seems to have quite a few variations. And it appears that the Acadian Perique tends to win as the most widely enjoyed. I can tell you right now that the jar note is exceptionally good and I want to see how this perique plays out.

Tin/Jar Note: Sweet, BBQ meat-like scent, mixed with a smoked fig note.
Visual: A nice, perfectly moist, ribbon cut pile of tobacco. Light Virginian to dark Burley & Cavendish.
Flavors: This is an all tobacco flavor smoke, no casing or flavoring. The Perique is up front and first to hit you, although not overly strong. The nutty Virginia and the Burley come in next and the Oriental/Turkish ride around to add some complexity.
Smoking Experience: This is a great pure tobacco smoke. A well balanced blend of tobaccos that somehow manages to allow each individual tobacco to shine through. Lights well and burns all the way to the bottom, with no issues.
Tobacco Strength: Medium+
Room Note: Tolerable to Pleasant
Comparable Tobacco: This was way more complex than anything I could think of that I have smoked so far.
Conclusion: This HH Acadian Perique burned VERY well. Top to bottom with no issues and came out of the bowl in a powdery white ash. It was was very complex and retrohaling added even more in to the mix. A solid tobacco to have on hand. The finish is amazingly long and so tasty. It’s been 10-15 min since I quit smoking, and I can still taste it.
