Review: Hearth & Home Anniversary Kake

Hearth & Home Anniversary Kake came to be out of a happy accident. Planning to receive a shipment of Virginias in a nice uniform color, they instead received a very multi-colored mix. But, they thought it smelled so good, that they decided to make a blend with it when they found out they could get more. Blended with a healthy dose of Perique, you get this VaPer. Produced to commemorate their one year anniversary.

Tin/Jar Note: The jar aroma is excellent! A very rich blend of rum, raisin and dark tobacco notes.
Visual: A moist, lumpy clump of ribbon cut tobaccos. It's all quite dark from the moisture.
Flavors: Dark tobacco sweetness and some liquor bite. A bit of a corn and molasses note.
Smoking Experience: Despite being quite wet, it burned well, never need a re-lightl. The tobacco was stronger than expected, and was quite nice. The finish of the bottom half had a grassy and sometimes nutty note.
Tobacco Strength: Medium+
Body: Medium+
Room Note: Pleasant
Comparable Tobacco: It was stronger in many ways than most flavored tobaccos. So, I couldn't compare it to much that I have had.
Conclusion: This tobacco burned from start to finish with ZERO relights. That was amazing. The flavors and body were great, and the aroma was very nice. Favorite tobacco? Maybe not. But I definitely want more!
