Just in case you don’t know, Global Premium Cigars is better known as the makers of the 1502 brand. This cigar is a step into the value priced cigar side. It was blended by Enrique Sanchez Icaza, and will be available in 20ct bundles.
Prelight: A pungent, yet enticing aroma of leather and barnyard hit the nose first, with lighter notes of cocoa and fermented tobacco. The foot is very different, with a thick and sweet aroma of caramel and brown sugar. Once clipped, the draw is smooth with flavors of tobacco, apple, and cedar.
Beginning: This little Cachito packs some body. Leather, with notes of wood and nuts are forward, with a mildly dry finish. Thick, white smoke pours from every puff. The retohale has a just the right amount of burn, with a light pepper tingle.
Middle: At some point as this cigar enters the second third, I notice a shift in the profile. It takes me just a few seconds, but I realize it’s peanut butter. An interesting and welcome flavor for sure. Eventually the leather comes back into the picture, but it doesn’t overpower the peanut butter and the two flavors meld nicely.
End: The final third gets nice and creamy. Leather and a smokey cream note. Still tons of smoke and a perfect burn.
Final Thoughts: Very flavorful cigar. Medium-full body and strength, tons of smoke, and an absolute perfect burn. This little cigar packs a decent punch. There is a decent flavor rollercoaster, and an overall upfront profile. Definitely a great, quick little smoke. And the size is perfect for a quick, relaxing moment. This is so close to a box split for me, but falls just shy.
