The Crux Cigars Ninfamaniac has had my attention since first sight. The it's a Lancero size, but in a figurado shape. Not to mention a band that is simply awesome! Love the nude fairy, on the brown background. But of course I would, it's very much in line with my Art Deco collecting. The wrapper is a somewhat veiny, medium brown, with great construction. And the aroma has a very interesting floral note. The cold draw has a mild floral flavor with some wood.
Vitola: Lancero Figurado
Size: 7 x 33
Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder: Indonesia
Filler: Nicaragua
The pointed tip of the Crux Ninfamaniac lights easily and the burn starts off perfectly. I can taste the sweet, floral notes from the cold draw and they are accompanied by a little sweet, cedar spice. It's a very unique flavor, that I don't believe I have ever had before, and it's also creamy. The burn is razor sharp, producing a clean white ash.
The Ninfamaniac's second third continues with a very interesting flavor profile, and sees the introduction of a creamy, coffee. I am loving the flavors coming from this cigar! Along with some nice smoke production and an epic burn and ash...perfection.
The final third of the Ninfamaniac ramps up a notch and is a little stronger, with some smokey notes. It's very creamy, with a long finish. At one point the cedar really came to the forefront, along with a spicy tingle on my tongue.
Very complex cigar. I am sure that you would probably notice more and different flavor notes each time smoked. I know this review was fairly quick and to the point, but what else do I need to say? I was too entranced in the profile to write much more. This is a must try and I hope to get my hands on the Dark version soon.
Conclusion:
96 - Box Buy - I definitely need a box of these...
Very interesting. I won a box of Crux Skeeterz I'm eagerly awaiting, but I do love Lanceros!
I have been longing to get my hands on these since I first read about them awhile ago. This great review just renews my desire.
Holy crap. Is this the highest cigar you have rated this year.
Whoa...you got my attention.
I thought it was great! The flavors were completely new to me and as you can see, the burn and construction were perfect. Plus, it didn't get all bitter or sour at the end, which I hate. And...lol...I LOVE lanceros and I LOVE figurados. So, combine the two and you've got my attention. :)
Matt, I won a fiver of the Passport half corona and thought it was pretty good as well.
I have heard many good things about this cigar. A 96! That is saying a lot! My buddy that lives in the mid-west has a local B&M that sells them, I am thinking about having him send me a few. I like the short/to the point review.
Boxes of 30 go for $180 not a bad price for the vitola. Made by the Placencia's.
I have smoked the Natural and Dark and really enjoyed them both.
Great flavors, great in-hand feel, awesome looks and very reasonable price. It's pretty win-win-win-etc. lol
I am smoking this now and have to agree. This is a fantastic smoke. The size, flavor, packaging, everything is perfect. I see no reason not to recommend this. I am very impressed to say the least.
