Review: Cornell & Diehl Habana Daydream

Cornell & Diehls Habana Daydream is one of those few cigar leaf base pipe tobaccos out there. They tend to create an interesting profile that, although definitely a pipe tobacco, they do have a similarity to cigar smoking.

Tin/Jar Note: Smoke, fig, plum and beef jerkey.

Visual: It’s a ribbon cut, but it looks more like a bunch of small flakes and the occasional ribbon. The dark unflavored black cavendish and perique really stand out among the lighter Virginia & cigar leaf.

Flavors: Smokey plum and fig, with the cigar leaf poking through. Making for a somewhat cigar-like smoking experience at times.

Smoking Experience: The first half smoked fine, but the second half had a few burn issues.

Tobacco Strength: Medium+

Body: Medium+

Room Note: Tolerable-Pleasant

Comparable Tobacco: Similar to Spectre, which is another cigar leaf based pipe tobacco.

Conclusion: I enjoyed this tobacco for the most part. I am still partial to my cigars, so I like when a pipe tobacco assimilates. ;) That being said, this isn't a pipe tobacco I would reach for all that often. It's good, but only hit a few of the right notes in my wheelhouse.

Rating: 3 Stars AKA "When it is on Sale" – Wouldn't pay full retail but would purchase it on sale
