Review: Cornell & Diehl Bayou Morning

Bayou Morning was a bit of a twist for me from the jar note to the smoke flavors. The name makes me feel as though I should be smoking this on the pier, looking out over a swamp, which really wouldn't be a bad way to start a morning to me.

Tin/Jar Note: Very pleasant. Actually seems pretty sweet, I thought for a moment it might be slightly aromatic, but it’s not.

Visual: It’s a muddled, almost homogeneous mix of medium-dark brown tobacco. It’s a nice ribbon cut mix of moist looking tobacco.

Flavors: Not a lot of flavors. Heavy on the Perique notes and the Virginia is pushed WAY to the background.

Smoking Experience: This is a very strong tobacco. There is a lot of tongue bite and finish lingers for a long time. It was a bit too harsh for my liking and I had to keep relighting, which is just annoying.

Tobacco Strength: Medium-Full

Body: Medium

Room Note: Tolerable

Comparable Tobacco: N/A

Conclusion: I wouldn't say this is a bad tobacco, just not my style. If you like Perique and the bite that it has, this may be for you.
