This CLE Plus has a very understated look. A thin & simple, yet attractive, red and chrome band sits around a milk chocolate colored wrapper. There are a couple larger veins and you can see the stretching on the wrapper, but it still has nice construction and a clean look. The pre-light aroma is very pleasing. With notes of spicy cedar and some great, dried fruit sweetness.

Quick Note: For this review I used the CF rating system. You can view it in detail here.
The cold draw is awesome. First off is a blast that tastes like powdered white pepper and it mixes so well with the dried fruit sweetness, which is taking the form of dried apricots. So far, this cigar would be great to just draw on and never light. But then, where would the review be?
The CLE starts off causing a wetness in my mouth that is crazy. Something in the profile is just coating my tongue and making it feel cool and wet, it’s different but good. The white pepper shows itself, and has a pretty sharp bite. There are also notes of oak and cedar, which all combine for a spicy woodiness, with the occasional hint of dried fruit. I had to relight once, but otherwise the burn was good, with great smoke production.
The second third ramps up in strength and body. The wetness is still there and the white pepper still continues to spice it up. The burn never had any issues here and the flavor profile cruised along, steadily in the same spot. Lots of smoke, which is just always a plus.
The CLE Plus ends pretty much the same way it started. The flavors, though they did change up slightly here and there, were pretty much on cruise control. That’s not always a bad thing, but we all enjoy a few substantial changeups in a cigar.
In the end, the CLE Plus is a good cigar. I was able to smoke it to the nub, without any bitterness or having a burning hot nub. Anytime I can smoke a cigar to a nub, and still enjoy it, the cigar deserves some credit in my eyes. If you are looking for a solid, easy going profile, that is also on the high side of medium-full, then the CLE Plus will definitely foot the bill. Although, for me, $8+ is a bit than I pay for that experience, but who knows. That may be exactly what you are looking for. Or, you may have a totally different experience than I did too.
