I was able to pick up this this cigar while at IPCPR this year, and I stashed it to be smoked on a clean palette. I have been slammed with work and life issues since returning, and have had a hard time getting to a review. I actually smoked this on Wednesday, but I was not able to get to the review until today (Friday). So, here goes, all be-it a shorter than usual review.
I couldn't get a precise flavor on the foot or wrapper, but the cold draw had a smooth, creamy caramel flavor. To be honest, this is the first cigar I have had that had such a strong caramel flavor.
After lighting up, the first draw is excellent. The draw is smooth as can be and the caramel is the prominent flavor. Very creamy.
About the second third, I start to pick up a bit of cedar, with a nutty finish. Although, to me, it was still mainly a sweet caramel note, that was just so creamy & smooth. Notice a recurring theme on my notes here? lol
From the last third to the end of this cigar, the caramel fell to the background, the creaminess decreased and the nutty, somewhat woody, flavor took over. Every now and then I got a minute hit of pepper (white?), but it was very muted.
I could have smoked this a little further, but just needed to do other things before hitting the hay for the night. It burned absolutely perfectly, and never needed touch-ups. And the ash held from lighting until just before the band. No complaints here, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be buying more as soon as I can.
Thanks to Huda for giving this cigar in Vegas. It was even better than I expected!
