Press Release: Nomad Cigar Co. Releases Estelí Lot 8613

Estelí, Nicaragua (March 31, 2015) – Nomad Cigar Company is pleased to announce the release of the Nomad Estelí Lot 8613 to retail stores on April 6th, 2015.
The Estelí Lot 8613 was blended at the same time as C-276 in late 2013. The additional year allowed Fred Rewey, the man behind Nomad Cigar Company, to both tweak the blend and get a better sense of how it would age long-term.
Estelí Lot 8613 marks the third full production cigar Nomad has done in Estelí at Tobacalera AJ Fernandez. Nomad also has two full production blends from Dominican Republic.
At this juncture, Nomad no longer has the pressure associated with “filling a portfolio” as some boutique cigar company’s experience. Including the Lot 8613, Nomad now has five full production blends and a growing presence on retail shelves.
It might also be no surprise that this is Fred’s second time blending with Ometepe.
“I started working with Ometepe when blending the C-276. It was the answer to adding yet another layer of flavor and level of strength in what became a very complex cigar.  With the Estelí Lot 8613 the Ometepe took a different route – playing more to the rustic sweetness the tobacco offers.” – said Rewey.
“Like my other blends, I start with an individual profile in mind, but stay open to adapting along the way if other flavors command attention. That is the fun part…letting the tobacco guide you to what it wants to be.
I fell in love with the flavors and richness of Estelí Lot 8613 at the blending table but the big question was how would it marry and age? When checking it a year later to see how it was aging, I was more than happy with the result. It was definitely time to release it.” – Rewey added.
As with the other Nicaraguan lines, Rewey creates the name of the cigar using a variety of Nicaraguan factoids.
In this particular case Rewey returned to his Limited LE Lot 1386.
“Although a much more complex blend than the Lot 1386, I was constantly reminded by the similarities. In the end, the appropriate name, for me, was to reverse the numbers.”
“86” and “13” represent the Longitude and Latitude of Estelí.

A new release priced under $9.  I'm interested.  Good to see in this climate of $10 and over releases
