Lone Eagle Brewing in Flemington, NJ is gearing up for their 2nd Anniversary, and we might have insight into what the brewery is planning. Last Tuesday, Lone Eagle received approval from the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) for two new label - Jubileum 2018 and Double Dry Hopped New England Chowdah.
According to the label, Jubileum 2018 is an 8% ABV IPA aged in Chardonnay Barrels. It will be released in 16.9oz bottles. Text on the label details:
This year we took our award winning Maiden Flight IPA and aged it in Chardonnay barrels and we added some Brettanomyces to add some complexity to the beer. After aging for six months in barrels we racked the beer back into stainless and dry hopped with Amarillo, Equinox and Summit. We then bottle conditioned for your enjoyment. This beer is a look back at our brief history and pursuit of a bright future. It is both something old and something new. This beer is for everyone who has supported us and who will support us. Cheers!
Lone Eagle opened on July 22, 2016. For its first anniversary, Lone Eagle hosted a two day celebration on July 21 and 22, 2017 which included a special bottle release on July 22 of Saison Jubileum. Saison Jubileum was a farmhouse saison ale aged in red wine barrels and refermented on peaches. While the brewery did not respond to our requests for information, it is assumed Jubileum 2018 will be this year's anniversary release.
Also of note is Lone Eagle's TTB-approved label for DDH New England Chowdah. Listed as a 6.5% ABV IPA, the 16oz can art details, "This New England style IPA hop bomb is dry hopped with Mosaic, Citra and Centennial. It's as hazy as a foggy morning over Boston Habah."
New England Chowdah debuted on draft at Lone Eagle right before Chistmas 2016. Long Eagle debuted cans of New England Chowdah in July 2017. Last month, the brewery released a draft version of Chowdah that was Double Dry Hopped with Denali.
