Wrapper: Dominican Sumatra
Price: $19 (At release)
Cigars Smoked: 1
This cigar has a gorgeous wrapper and the draw is perfect.
The first third starts off with dark, leathery flavors. There is a subtle spice, but the flavor profile remains quite smooth. The aroma is sweet, and I almost taste raisins. A small crack starts to develop during this third, limiting the draw. The cigar almost goes out, but the burn line catches up to the trouble spot so things return to normal. The flavors change to heavy leather notes with slight cedar undertones. As I near the end of this third I swear I can taste fresh baked snickerdoodle cookies.
The second third begins with a nutty- leathery profile that is dark and meaty. Partially through a subtle cinnamon and graham cracker taste joins the ranks.
The flavors do not change in the final third. The cocoa and leather profile continues with hints of cinnamon and cocoa. I let it go out about halfway through this third. Final smoking time was roughly two and a half hours.
Overall, this is a fantastic cigar; I just wish it was more readily available. I highly recommend picking up the current release (Small Batch No. 5) if you can find them, 9.6/10.
