I've noticed a resurgence of seriously well blended coronas and lanceros hitting the market since I started this wonderful hobby two years ago.  Sadly these releases have usually been limited, making them either cost prohibitive for some or impossible to find.  Is the reason we don't see more regular production on lanceros a matter of difficulty in rolling/blending or the fact that most consumers are still mainly focused on the larger ring gauges?

I'm eagerly awaiting the launch of the CyB lancero next month...  Keep up the good work!

Thank you.

A couple questions.

1) So there is finally CyB Lancero. I know it was requested by many. Was It the publics urging that prompted this vitola in the CyB? Or was it slated to happen already, and the timing just worked out that way?

2) Did Jose notice any ripples in production or sales when they had tho rebrand the Cuenca y Blanco to CyB?

Great questions. I know Jose will answer them all. He will forget more about cigars than I could ever possibly hope to know.

Jose, could you compare and contrast the cigar industry in Nicaragua and the Dominican? You remain the Laurence Olivier of the industry. Thank you and best regards.

First, thank you for the CyB Lancero.. we have talked and you know I'm a fan of the smaller RGs.. Can not wait..

Question: What is the oldest cigar you currently have in your personal humidor and what is it. Followup.. What occasion are you saving it for, if any.

Mr. Blanco, My Father's favorite cigar of all time was the pre- embargo Joya De Nicaragua Antano 1970. He enjoyed that cigar so much that when it became unavailable in the United States he quit smoking cigars altogether. My Dad has since passed away. I enjoy smoking the current Antano 1970 but my question is just how close does the newer version come to experiencing the original. I know it is not possible, but it would be so wonderful to be able to go back in time and smoke one of the pre embargo Antanos with my Dad and experience what he enjoyed so much.  Thank you sir!  You create legendary cigars!  Markham Brown, Tennessee

Another question.

"Jose, I know you love 'cigars'. And by that I mean you smoke all kinds/types/brands of cigars, not solely JdN. I know as a consumer, I find cigars from advertising & online reviews, then find a retailer that stocks them & make my purchase. Does being in the industry, having your own line and/or having so many industry connections affect they way that you discover and acquire your cigars? Based either from my personal example or from how you accomplished this before."

Jose, what do you think is currently happening in the cigar industry & where would you like to see it go?

Have you seen any major changes or retooling from the various manufacturers that may have influenced JDN?

Based on your experiences, would you think we are in the middle of a cigar boom?

One more Jose..

I commend you for being so energetic on Twitter and replying to everyones questions and/or posts.

In saying this, you also have a very active following on social media, have those relationships helped you promote the JDN / CyB brand at all?

1) what is your go-to tobacco when you begin a new blend?

2) What tobacco are you most looking forward to working with that you have yet to use?
