According to a filing with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) on Wednesday, it appears that Jughandle Brewing Co. in Tinton Falls, NJ is set to release another variant of Hopshorne, their New England IPA. On November 7th, Jughandle received TTB approval for a can label for Hopshorne Idaho 7.
Hopshorne Idaho 7 is a 7.2% ABV Double Dry-Hopped New England Style IPA. Hopshorne Idaho 7 is a variant of Jughandle's Hopshorne New England IPA that has been generously dry hopped with Idaho 7 hops. Can art for the beer reads, "Hopshorne is our tribute to Harthshorne Woods, one of our favorite Monmouth County Parks. The Hopshorne series was crafted to showcase the flavors and aromas of different hop combinations using a single base beer."
The original Hopshorne debuted on draft at the brewery in mid-November 2017. Hopshorne Galaxy was the first variant to debut in early January. Since, Jughandle has released 14 additional variants: Zythos, Idaho 7, Medusa, Vic Secret, Jarrylo, Blue Steel, El Dorado, Jade Secret, Cashmere Outside, Citra, Mosaic, Ella, Down Under Summer and Mackinac.
Idaho 7 would be the third variant to be canned. In late August, Jughandle released Hopshorne Galaxy in cans, and last month, Jughandle debuted Hopshorne Down Under Summer in cans.
We reached out to Jughandle for additional details, they did not provide release details, but did not that Hopshorne Idaho 7 was "gonna have the awesome pungent tropical fruit and pine flavors of the Idaho 7 hops up front and center".
