Another week, another can release from Icarus Brewing Company in Lakewood, NJ - this time with two never released before offerings.
The first offering from Icarus is Valjean French Saison. Valjean French Saison is a 6% ABV French Saison that originally debuted during Christmas of 2016. Valjean represents the first time that Icarus is canning a Saison. In the past, Valjean has been marketed as "a simple, yet refined, fruit flavor combined with Belgian Candi Sugar and the bubbliness of a glass of champagne." When we reached out to Icarus owner and head brewer Jason Goldstein for further details, he informed us, "To add our own twist we added Rye to add additional dryness and complexity as well as dry hopping it with Citra, Loral, and Green Bullet to accentuate the floral and citrus of the yeast."
The second offering to be released on Wednesday, November 7th, is another iteration of Yacht Juice - DDH Mosaic Yacht Juice. While never previously released, DDH Mosaic Yacht Juice is an 8% ABV Mosaic Imperial India Pale Ale. Goldstein described to us "We took our standard Yacht Juice and we upped the level of Mosaic and Lupulin Mosaic to an even higher level adding a huge punch of Mango, Blueberry, and Stonefruit to an already citrus heavy IIPA." Yacht Juice has quickly become a hallmark of Icarus' as one of its flagship offerings. This will be the fifth canned variant of Yacht Juice - the Original, DDH Citra Yacht Juice, First Anniversary DDH Yacht Juice and Lil Yacht Juice have all previously been released.
Both can offerings will be available in the brewery beginning tomorrow, November 7th, and then will see distribution to usual Icarus accounts.
