Lakewood, NJ's Icarus Brewing Company continues to streamline their release schedule, and is on target for more in the coming weeks.
This week, Icarus has already announced the re-releases of Karman Line and My Little Freind. This iteration of Karman Line was made with the Icarus' House Yeast Blend plus an updated Water Profile to match their more recent NEIPAs with "still entirely too much" Galaxy, Simcoe, Lupulin Citra according to Icarus' owner and head brewer, Jason Goldstein. My Little Freind utilizes a new coffee according to Goldstein that gives the beer "more of a Pecan Roll/Sticky Bun flavor [that] still tastes like cold brew.
Next week, on October 10th, Icarus is planning to release fresh Spelt Check and Yacht Juice cans. According to Goldstein, it appears Yacht Juice will become a staple at Icarus. Goldstein told us that Icarus is "trying to make sure we keep [Yacht Juice] at almost all times as long as I can make sure its always fresh batches coming out."
While Goldstein could not commit to a definitive release for 10/18, we did get insight into two new potential cans including Contact Light, a completely new beer. Contact Light is a 5.2% ABV Pale Ale. According to Goldstein, Contact Light uses "the most wheat we've put in a Pale Ale yet (1/3 Wheat) this is a beer made to exhibit one of my favorite new hops: Bru-1, Bru-1 has an overripe pineapple flavor with a ton of stone fruit and paired it with Lupulin Citra and Palisade to bring out even more citrus and a touch of floral aroma."
While release is subject to change this far out, Contact Line is scheduled to be released on October 18th alongside a first time canning of We Want The Galactic Gold, an 8.1% ABV DDH Imperial IPA. We Want The Galactic Gold debuted a year ago, and was widely released in kegs around the state last month, but this will be the first time it is canned. According to Goldstein, We Want The Galactic Gold is "Double Dry Hopped with a ton of Mosaic and Galaxy".
