Lakewood, NJ's Icarus Brewing Company has gotten into a steady cadence of releasing new packaged offerings weekly. Now, after reviewing filings with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) and validating with Icarus Owner and Head Brewer Jason Goldstein, we know Icarus has no plans to take the holidays off!
According to a filing with the TTB, Icarus received approval on December 4th for a can label for a new Double Dry Hopped version of Power Juicer. DDH Power Juicer is a 7.5% ABV Double Dry Hopped Imperial IPA. The original Power Juicer debuted in April to rave reviews, and a DDH version debuted on draft in July, but that was Double Dry Hopped with Denali. The canned version will be Double Dry Hopped with Cashmere.
According to Goldstein, "Cashmere is pure honeydew and cantaloupe and really meshes well with the soft sweetness from the lactose." DDH Power Juicer will be available alongside a fresh batch of King Arthur's Steed beginning Wednesday in the Icarus tap room.
Icarus followed this up on December 11th when they received TTB approval for a debuting beer - Cobra Clutch. Cobra Clutch is a new 7.9% ABV Imperial India Pale Ale. According to the can art, Cobra Clutch is a "Heavily Oated and Wheated Imperial India Pale Ale dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Citra then copiously Dry Hopped with Lupulin Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin."
Goldstein tells us Cobra Clutch has "tons of white grape and fruit punch going on and very full bodied. Names based on one of Sgt Slaughters signature moves the Cobra Clutch, which is a type of Full Nelson and our link to the hops." Goldstein added, "its smelling pretty phenomenal already. It'll be canned on 12/26 and released that day too."
