Lakewood, NJ's Icarus Brewing Company has firmly established itself in the local discourse since it opened in 2017. With widely successful beer releases, and a top notch distribution model, Icarus has become a favorite for many beer enthusiasts throughout the state. Now, a new beer series looks to take that excitement one step further.
Yesterday, Icarus announced the release of a new series, "Remote Release". According to Icarus Owner and Head Brewer Jason Goldstein, Icarus will "be rotating this series at locations around the state, working with the Liquor Stores/Bars in a collaborative way to create new beers based on our existing IPAs but with brand new hops or blends of their choosing."
The first version is Remote Release Volume 1 - a 10.5% ABV Triple NEIPA brewed with European Pilsen, Vienna, and Lactose. Its dry hopped with Lupulin Mosaic and Simcoe, Motueka, Columbus, and loads of Vic Secret. This version was a collaboration with The Milton Inn, and is tied in with a 22 tap takeover Icarus had there last night, and will only be available in their store as well as in our taproom.
In addition, Icarus is releasing a 7% ABV IPA called "Choose Wisely". According to Goldstein, Choose Wisely is a "Sabro heavy North East India Pale Ale which we tested out with Blonde Roasted Oats." He continued by detailing that Blonde Roasted Oats "is a new malt for us, and should help smooth out the body of an IPA with a very distinct Oat flavor and sweetness without the thickness of Flaked Oats as well as messing around with Sabro which gives a unique Citrus more reminiscent of Grapefruit with a herbal mint characteristic. This leaves the Single IPA with a fluffy body bursting with notes of tangerine, coconut, tropical fruit, mint and cedar."
Both cans are available in the taproom today.
