Last week, we broke news of Seaside Heights, NJ's Heavy Reel Brewing Co.'s anniversary plans and the release of Drowning Clown. Today we learn that Heavy Reel doesn't plan to stop there!
According to a filing with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Heavy Reel received approval on March 20th for a can label for The Wake Of Isolation. The Wake of Isolation is an 8% ABV Double India Pale Ale. First released in the Heavy Reel taproom in November, The Wake Of Isolation has quickly become one of their most popular beers.
The profile for the beer reads, "Brewed with a laundry list of hops including Columbus, Mosaic, Amarillo, Citra, and Loral. On top of that we added an extra heap of Citra Cryo. This no hop boil on top of a backbone of Golden Promise, Oats, Wheat, Malted Oats, and Pilsner give this beer a soft and sweet mouthfeel."
When we reached out to Heavy Reel for further details, the brewery confirmed that The Wake Of Isolation would also be released to celebrate the brewery's first anniversary. The brewery continued, "Isolation is Citra, Mosaic, Loral, Zeus 8% double IPA. Probably my favorite beer that I brew over there."
