On Friday, Somerdale, NJ's Flying Fish Brewing Company received approval from the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) for a bottle label for a new Limited Edition Barrel Aged beer - Extended Summer.
According to label art, Extended Summer is a 7.3% ABV Belgian-Style Golden Ale brewed with Apricot and Mango and aged in wine barrels. Label art reads:
Just when you thought it was over, summer weather hangs around leading to some of the nicest warm days of the year. Kick back and sip on this Belgian style blonde with juicy apricot and ripened mango. Summer isn't over yet.
When we reached out to Flying Fish for comment, they informed us that "[t]he wine barrels are from Alba Vineyards. They had their Chardonnay in them." When questioned about distribution, we were informed that the 12oz bottles are "a limited release and will be available in stores and at the tasting room. [It is] coming in September."
