Back in November 2018, Great Notion Brewing in Portland, Oregon released a collaboration with Cape May NJ's Cape May Brewing Company called Strawberry Taffy. Now, according to a recent filing with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), it appears that beer might be coming to cans distributed by Cape May.
Strawberry Taffy is a 7% ABV Milkshake IPA. Originally released only on draft at Great Notion Brewery, the beer was profiled as "a collaboration brew with our friends from Cape May Brewing in NJ. We added local sea salt, milk sugar, and heaps of gooey strawberry taffy to the boil. The beer was fermented with 135 lbs of Oregon strawberries, and conditioned on Madagascar vanilla beans!"
Can art for Strawberry Taffy, which is very reminiscent of Great Notion can art, reads, "Strawberry Taffy is a collaboration brew with our friends from Great Notion out in Portland, Oregon. Inspired by gooey boardwalk Salt Water Taffy, Strawberry Taffy is brewed with milk sugar and local Cape May Sea Salt, fermented with loads of strawberries, and conditioned on Madagascar vanilla beans."
Requests for additional information including release information were not immediately returned by Cape May.
