So I posted a pic a few weeks ago of the cigar I was smoking for a Blind Man's Puff Review.  It was a really fantastic cigar and I was stunned when I found out what it was... Well, the review is up and it looks like I game the damn thing a 97 in their scoring system! The way they do it is they have reviews basically fill out a survey about the cigar and based on your answers the score is generated... now if I reviewed and scored this for CigFed, it would have been more like a Box Split or low Box Buy... Regardless, this cigar will be on my best new release lis to of the year... one of the best I smoked in 2014...

What did you think it was? Craig was brutal in his overall impression of it. I liked your comment on CigFed being heavy on boutique blends, there are some solid cigars out there. Glad you had the opportunity to do a blind review. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Miguel... well, I knew I was wrong based on there sizing of the cigar, but it reminded me of a spicier version of the Jericho Hill... it has that dry cocoa, chocolate soufflé  flavor... so to say I thought I knew what it was is a bit of a stretch... but the profiles were reminiscent of each other

Great review Rob, I'm going to pick one up.

Rob, I was honored to be a part of this review - and I do think it was an excellent cigar.  I smoked and reviewed the San Andres one and found it to be one of the better San Andres cigars of 2014 (In general, most San Andres cigars fall down hard in my book).  I was curious to see what the Broadleaf tasted like and was glad I got the opportunity here.

I had no clue what this cigar was, but did suspect it was a Broadleaf.  I still was surprised it was the Prohibition.

Coop - I had never smoked this cigar before this review... in fact it has probably been a good 2 years since I have smoked ANY Rocky Patel cigar... it was an eye opener... I get a little too focused on boutiques and need to remember that there are big companies who are also making some good cigars... The Cohiba Nicaragua is an example of that... not a cigar that I would normally seek out, but we got some samples at IPCPR and did a review and I really enjoyed it...

Interesting stuff indeed.  I'm the opposite of Coop though as San Andres Maduro is used on many of my favorites:

EPC La Historia, Ezra Zion FHK, Leccia Luchador, AKA Nth Degree, Bodega Reunion Digestivo, Eiroa CBT Maduro, Epicurean Gonzo Santeria, Illusione MC Slam, Illusione Rothchilds, La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor, La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor Reserva, La Jugada Prieto, Viaje Cache...

I normally would not be interested in a RP cigar, but I am intrigued by this conn. broadleaf version.

I have always enjoyed being part of the blind reviews with Blind Mans Puff. It really is the best way to really know what you think of something.
