Gentlemen, it is time that I move on from my time writing as a cigar reviewer and participating as a moderator on Cigar Federation, What Embargo, and Habanos Critic. Due to professional obligations, it is in my best interests to step away from the cigar industry as a reviewer, commentator, and general fan of all things wrapped in Connecticut leaf. I discussed this with Logan and Seth briefly a few weeks ago, and wanted to take the time to let you all know.
First off, I want to thank Rob for giving me a shot at reviewing years ago. Thank you for giving me a voice and allowing me to expand creatively into something I never thought about doing really. To Logan for putting up with me and not telling me to kick rocks at times when the artist in me came out. To my IPCPR wingman Jerad for putting up with my antics as we walked around for hours getting our weasel on. To the rest of the Fed Head crew for always supporting me and giving me positive feedback to keep writing. Honestly, I have been a part of many online cigar communities, and the Federation has always been the best. There is never any drama, name-calling, or general nonsense that I see daily on so many other sites and groups. From day one, Cigar Federation has always been about exchanging the love of the leaf and is truly a reflection of the guys that run it. I tip my hat to Logan and Rob for creating such a fine community, and I am proud to be a part of it. The moderator crew here is a fine collection of individuals.
My time with Habanos Critic and What Embargo has been such a joy. Getting to voice my opinion on all things Habanos, the terrible finish I associate with most NC, and general smack talking, was nothing short of a blast. I will miss the show and my interaction Seth more than anything, and did not foresee having to stop. If anything, I owe him an apology. A few months ago, I invested significantly in the show, so to see that fall short, was depressing really. Seth and I will coordinate a final show, even though our schedules for the summer have been ridiculous. I have one review left for the site, and I think it will make for a fitting final review and exit from the cigar world. Thank you to all the fans and readers, you guys rock.
I truly enjoy writing, although at times it was tedious given my grad school schedule. However, I tried and found pleasure interjecting humor and sarcasm, hopefully breaking the monotony found on many sites. That is what I loved about working with Cig Fed and Seth, none of our reviewers took the reviews so seriously that they could not interject their own style and opinion. I will miss this, and find another avenue in the future to get that creative fix. In the meantime, I will obviously stay on as a member and check in when time permits. I may even do a review or two in the forum when I come across the next Regius or Curivari. I appreciate all the feedback from the readers over the years, otherwise I would not have continued to do it.
And with that, I bid you goodnight as moderator, show host, and reviewer.
