Review: Dapper Cubo Connecticut

Cubo Cigars (by Dapper Cigar Co.) is based on a simple idea. Recreate classic Cuban profiled cigars out of Nicaragua. Although, trying to create medium-bodied cigars from a country known for it's bold and powerful tobaccos can be tough. The Connecticut uses a "Cloud-Grown", Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper from Oliva Tobacco and Nicaraguan binder and filler from the Jalapa and Condega regions. They are produced under…

Group Review: Crowned Heads Le Careme

Fresh off the 2016 IPCPR floor, Jon Huber and Crowned Heads have released the Le Carême, a cigar which pays tribute to Marie Antoine Carême. A pioneering figure in 19th century French cuisine. Such as establishing mother sauces and the popularization of the soufflé. It is produced at the same factory as the Four Kicks, Headley Grange and J.D. Howard Reserve.…

Review: Drew Estate Undercrown Shade Flying Pig

The Undercrown line has been around for a while now, but the Shade version didn't release until IPCPR 2015. And the Flying Pig vitola in the Shade, did not officially release until yesterday, July 21. I like the UC line, I have become a huge Connecticut fan the last couple years and the pig vitola is just awesome in my personal opinion. Then again, I love the more varied shapes.

Review: Dunhill Ready Rubbed

This is a re-release of a classic Dunhill blend. Dunhill Ready Rubbed is advertised as a mild, naturally sweet tobacco, which is good to smoke at any time. It is a Virginia based blend, light in color, so I expect this to be the case. This particular batch had a tin date of 5/25/14 and I opened it 10/09/15.

Review: Serino Royale Maduro XX

Serino Cigar Co. is a small batch producer, putting quality over quantity. Now, I feel little funny saying that, since it seems to a bit cliche, but it is a noble quality to aspire to and I'll let the cigar speak for that. They are blended by Omar Gonzalez Aleman, who has blended at some very well known factories in his career and now owns his own factory, La Corona Cigar S.A.

Review: Hearth & Home Magnum Opus

Hearth & Home’s Magnum Opus is a blend of Cyprian Latakia, yellow Virginias (U.S. and Bulgaria), Izmir, Basma and the “Queen of Tobaccos”, Yenidje. Then some Perique is added to give it more depth and smoothness.

Review: Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Kendal Kentucky

Full bodied and full strength, Kendal Kentucky is full strength and full bodied. Made from 100% African grown variations of Kentucky seed (Malawi, Uganda and Tanzania). Fire-curing of these tobaccos gives this tobacco very distinctive aroma and flavor.

Review: Cornell & Diehl Morley's Best

Morley’s Best is a combination of three Burleys (rough cut, white & cubed), Virginia flake and Cyprian Latakia. It was blended to roughly match the Blue Boar Rough Cut (which was discontinued in the ’80’s) from American Tobacco Company.

Review: Bentley

Okay, I know this is a European cigar. I know samples were gotten at Inter Tabac and I know the site is in Dutch? Even translated, there wasn't any information on the company's webpage for this cigar. So, let's smoke it and see what we CAN find out.

Review: Boswell Sweet & Mild

There isn't too much to preface with an aromatic sometimes. Really, it comes down to a couple things. If you even like aromatics and if the topping is too heavily applied to the tobacco. I do enjoy some aromatics and this tobacco smells amazing! Apparently, it was blended by Dan and a customer turned good friend, to be exactly what they wanted. Let's see how they hit my palate.…
