Review: Garo Maduro Especial

As with the Garo Adamas last week, this Maduro Especial has nice, clean construction. The length of the cigar has smooth, even rolling and the seams are near invisible. The prelight aroma of this Maduro Especial has lots of smokey, beef jerky notes and a smoked wood odor. The cold draw, while a quite tight, gives off a decent deep, dark natural tobacco note with a good amount of spicy tingle.…

Review: H&H Fusilier's Ration

Blended by Russ Ouellette, Fusilier's Ration bears a great similarity to the classic Bengal Slices, by design. Using dark latakia tobacco with oriental, Virginia and a touch of black cavendish, this was a very unique blend to me. Of course, the old fashioned top dressing, added for a light scent may have something to do with it.…

Review: Garo Adamas

This Garo Adamas is a hefty cigar. At a full inch in diameter, this 4.5x64 cigar has a clean appearance. The seams are smooth and hidden, the cap is neatly applied and the length of the cigar feels well packed.

Review: Esoterica Tobacciana And So To Bed

Well, this is going to be my inaugural pipe tobacco review. Should be an interesting learning curve, but I am sure that in time I will get this smoothed out to a system. So, let's get to it.

Esoterica Tobacciana - And So To Bed has to be the most unique name for a tobacco I have seen thus far. Makes me think that maybe this is a tobacco, meant to be smoked as the last pipe of the day. Just before going to bed, but lets see shall we?…

Review: Fleur de la Reine (Maduro)

The Fleur de la Reine has a nice looking maduro wrapper on it. The construction seems to be right on and the cold draw has notes of earth, with a little bit of caramel in the background. Feels like a very solid cigar, and seems to be packed with tobacco sweetness. I know absolutely nothing about this cigar, so I’m interested to see how it comes out.

Review: CLE Plus

This CLE Plus has a very understated look. A thin & simple, yet attractive, red and chrome band sits around a milk chocolate colored wrapper. There are a couple larger veins and you can see the stretching on the wrapper, but it still has nice construction and a clean look. The pre-light aroma is very pleasing. With notes of spicy cedar and some great, dried fruit sweetness.
