Review: Royal Danish Regal Blend Double Robusto

I love getting oddball cigars for review, especially ones with odd packaging and European flash.  I love me some mild-medium blends, and the Euro’s are all about it, so when Rob hit me with this Royal Danish sample, I was intrigued from the get go.  I will be honest, it did get lost in my sample humi, which currently lies at about 300-400 at any time.  However, the owner of the company hit me up on Instagram about cigars in general, and that prompted me to go find it when I…

Habanos Review: Sancho Panza Non Plus petite corona

Sancho Panza is a brand I have very little experience with honestly.  I have only had a Belicoso once, and never cared for it.  I still had to try the Non Plus though, given the insane corona whore I am when it comes to Habanos. I really want to know Sancho Panza, who he is, and what his whole story is.  It seems like there is little information in regard to Mr. Panza and his Habanos brand, other than a literary reference.  Who knows who came up with the name, but…

Review: Pre-Release Regius Exclusivo USA Lancero 7 1/2x40

On Monday I posted a review of the Regius USA Exclusivo Fat Perfecto (Click Here), and today I wanted to visit the Lancero, as those were the two sizes it seemed everyone wanted a line on.  As I noted in my first review, each size is blended differently, and this lancero was sized a tad larger then a 38rg to accommodate for the balance needed with the Ometepe…

Pre-Release Review: Regius Exclusivo USA Fat Perfecto

Man I love this time of year.  This is the time when all the companies are teasing new releases and I start drooling like a Pavlov dog over what may be coming out of the Domincan Republic, like anything made by a family named Kelner, and my favorite Nicaraguan blenders.  That being said, given my love for the Regius brand and the rankings of Akhil’s blends on my Top 13…

Review: Habanos H Upmann Connoisseur 1 Robusto

Being one of the residing Presidents of the Upmann Slim with the Tilted Brim Fan Club, I am always on the lookout for Upmann smokes that deliver the love. I had always collected the No 2 vitola, the Magnum 46, and several smaller sizes including the Majestic. For some reason, I never got around to trying the Connoisseur 1, even though it had a reputation that was impeccable amongst the Upmann faithful and forum nuts. When I finally grabbed a box from 2011, I was…

Review: AJ Fernandez Oval Maduro

***I posted this for another board and figured I would post it here for our readers as well***

It’s AJ Fernandez day on Cigar.com woohoo!  So in response to this wonderful event I was asked to review an AJ Fernandez blend.  Unfortunately, the only AJ blend that I have in my humi is the Crucible, which I have reviewed before, and love dearly.  For the most part, my humi’s are very specific to my tastes, and normally full-bodied Nicaraguan cigars are not…

Review: Guayacan Torpedo

I had waited a while to get back to reviewing another one of the samples Guayacan owner Noel Rojas had given to me at IPCPR.  Knowing the maduro was a little strong for my tastes, I figured letting the natural line age for six months or so might be advantageous to my palate.  I reviewed the maduro here, and interviewed Noel at IPCPR…

All about RH: What Embargo Episode Quatro recap

Another installment of writing up a previous show so that folks have a written account of the recommendations of the show.  The following is a writeup on what RH's to store at, why and how.  Funny thing is, while I wrote this, I had not touched my wineador in well over a year, and wrote about the stability of it.  I went in and did some organizing, and noticed it at 60-61 so I actually seasoned it a bit for the fist time.  Back up to 63, and all is well.

Review: Azan White Premium Robusto

My first experience with Azan was rather pleasant, so I was very excited to get into another one of their releases for review in the White Premium line.  The Robusto was what I chose, as the size is a personal favorite.  If you recall in my first review (Click Here for the Burgundy review!), every size is rolled by one roller, and there is something about knowing one…

Review: Total Flame Nicaragua

If you have not noticed, Total Flame seems to be making good impressions in the review world.  I posted a review of the FTW (click here) and raved about it to everyone in forums across the internet, while bugging Rob and Logan to pick them up.  It seems since then, they keep getting positive feedback on Cigar Federation and throughout the blogging world.  I…

Habanos Review: Romeo Y Julieta Wide Churchill

Everybody I know has been raving about the Wide Churchill since I can remember getting into Habanos. My good pal Todd asks me every time we speak if I have tried one yet, and threats of bombing always follows.  Therefore, Mr. Tuna finally smashed up my block with one when he heard about my lack of experience with said blend, and I jumped at the chance to sit down and review it.  Personally, I am a big Romeo fan, and they seem to get a bad wrap in the forums.  I love the…

Habanos Review: H Upmann Majestic 5.5x40

Upmann Addicts Anonymous checking in for duty. When a brother has a chance to score boxes with 5-6 years on them, you jump. I was introduced to the Majestic when given that opportunity, and was not let down. Quickly after experiencing what an aged Majestic had to offer, I turned to new production, and was pleasantly greeted with fine cigars for economic value. So I figured sooner or later, I must review my hidden gem in the Upmann line. The size is a Cremas 5.5x40, which…

Review: Bodega Aperitivo Corona Gorda

Chances are, if you hang out on twitter or in the cigar social media world, you probably heard about Bodega as one of their fearless leaders, Cigar_G, has a unique presence you could say.  His combination of humor and fervor for cigars is rather original to say the least.  I had the pleasure of hanging with the Bodega crew at IPCPR, well before their cigars were released or finished, and got to see the partnership with the House of Emilio blossom on the show floor.  Rob…
