Review: 2016 Quesada Oktoberfest Das Brauhaus

The folks over at Quesada Cigars have done a great job of making their brand synonymous with this time of year.  When I think about Oktoberfest I think of malty beers and Quesada cigars.  Tatuaje owns Halloween and Quesada owns Oktoberfest.

2015 was the year that Quesada introduced two limited edition Nicaraguan versions of their Oktoberfest blend.  The Das Brauhaus is one of those Nicaraguan blends and it was one of my favorites last year.  This year's blend is said to be the same…

Review: Foundation Cigars The Tabernacle

When I think Nick Melillo, I think Connecticut Broadleaf.  So, naturally, I was rather pumped when I heard that Foundation Cigars was introducing the Broadleaf wrapped Tabernacle at IPCPR.

The Tabernacle hit stores in early August and is available in six sizes:

  • 4 1/2 x 52 Torpedo in 24 count boxes
  • 5 1/4  x 46 Corona in 24 count boxex
  • 5 x 50 Robusto in 24 count boxes
  • 6 x 52 Toro in 24 count boxes…

Review: Protocol Lancero

We've been talking about the Protocol Lancero from Cubariqueño Cigars a lot lately.  The Lancero had a soft release earlier this year and is currently available in a few places.  I believe the CigFed store has a few bundles left.

The Protocol Lancero is set for nationwide release next week at the 2016 IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas.  Cubariqueño Cigars is also set to release the…

Review: Protocol Probable Cause

Cubariqueño Cigar Company burst on to the cigar scene in 2015 with their freshman release called Protocol.  It was met with rave reviews (including that of our own Cigar Surgeon).  On the heels of that success, Juan and Bill are set to release the Protocol Probable Cause in July at this year's IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas, NV... Where the…

Pre-Release Group Review: EP Carrillo Short Run 2016

The EP Carrillo Short Run 2016 is a departure from the norm for the folks at EPC.  The Short Run is not a new concept, but the 2016 edition has a few new facets to it.  First off it is available in one vitola.  The 2016 Short Run will be available only in a 6 x 52 toro while previous iterations were available in three different sizes.  It also has a new band.  The 2016 band is predominantly gold with red, black and white accents.

OK, enough of that...…

Review: Alec Bradley Post Embargo LE Lancero

Review: MoyaRuiz Pickle Juice

The Pickle Juice from MoyaRuiz Cigars is an interesting cigar in a few different ways.  First off, it is the latest addition to the "holiday release" cigar list.  Secondly, it is the first Candela wrapped cigar to come out of the La Zona factory.  There may be a small release that I don't know about, but as far as I can tell the Pickle Juice is the first.

What is a "holiday release" cigar.  Good question.  Pete Johnson and Tatuaje…

Group Review: Quesada Keg 2016

The Quesada Keg returned in 2016 with larger production and a ramped up look.  The blend is the same as the 2015 version, but features a different tobacco vintage.

Review: Alec Bradley Tempus Nicaragua

The Alec Bradley Tempus Nicaragua is the latest addition to the Tempus line.  It joins the re-blended Tampus Natural and the Tempus Maduro.

The Tempus line has been around for awhile.  In fact, the Tempus Maduro was one of the first cigars I purchased on a regular basis when I first started smoking cigars.  With that being said, the Tempus line holds a special place in my heart.  So when we had Casey Aldulaimi on CigarChat last week I promised that the Tempus Nicaragua would be the…

Review: Fable Cigars Fourth Prime

Fable Cigars is a brand new cigar company.  And when I say "brand new" I mean it.  Their first release is called Fourth Prime and it fully will hit the market in April, 2016.  The folks at Fable Cigars currently offer a 4-stick vitola sampler on their website for $45.

The name Fourth Prime is in reference to the number 7 which happens to be the fourth prime number.  On their website the Fable folks say, "Our first…
