Review: F&K Lancer Slices

F&K Lancer Slices is a bulk pipe tobacco which is manufactured in Denmark and comes in a broken flake. Lancer Slides is different than most pipe tobaccos because it uses only two tobacco; Latakia and Virginia.

Fun Fact: It is rumored this blend is similar to Bengal Slices, which have been out of production for some time. I haven’t personally smoked Bengal Slices, but from what I have seen, about 50% of the people say Lancer Slides is a close…

Review: Peter Stokkebye Balkan Supreme

Peter Stokkebye Blakan Supreme is a bulk pipe tobacco which can be purchase at many places. It is made in Denmark and is reporting to have many similarities to the fabled Balkan Sobranie.

I picked up an ounce of this from P&C’s a while back because of its popularity.

Fun Fact: Depending on where you look some sources quote this blend has having Burley while some quote it has having Black Cavendish.

Review: Captain Earle's Ten Russians

I stumbled across Ten Russians while reading some pipe forums. I was doing some research looking for a good crumble cake English blend and kept seeing people talk about Ten Russians. I figured I shouldn’t fight fate and purchased a can from P&C’.

Fun Fact: The brand of Ten Russians is inspired from the true story of Captain Earle rescuing ten Russian sailors…

Review: Frog Morton on the Bayou

Frog Morton on the Bayou is produced by McClelland and is a part of the McClelland Caftsbury Collection. It is classified as an English or Balkan blend depending on what source you look at. Frog Morton is available most everywhere and can be purchase in 1.76 or 3.5 ounce tins.

For those JRR Tolkein fans out there…

Frog Morton is also the name of a town in the eastern part of the Shire. #nerdalert

Review: Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding

Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding is a was created by Joe Lankford, for the Seattle Pipe Club. This pipe tobacco was so popular, that Joe had to turn over production over to Pipes & Cigars. Joe simply couldn’t keep up with the demand.

It is a highly rated English blend and can be tough to get your hands on. As of this review P&C’s is completely sold out. I would be really curious to see if I could get my hands on some the original Plum Pudding Joe blended himself before…

Review: Orlik Golden Sliced

Orlik Golden Sliced is a pressed flake tobacco that is produced by Orlik Tobacco Company. Orlik Golden sliced is available pretty much everywhere and comes in tins of 1.76 or 3.5 ounces. I have seen that it is available in pouches outside of the US.

There is a bit of debate on this tobacco. It is advertised that it uses “golden Virginia tobaccos with a touch of Perique”.

Depending on where you look there is a highly contested debate on whether the Golden…
