Review: Tatuaje Wolfie (2012 Little Monsters)

I purchased the Tatuaje Wolfie as a part of the 2012 Little Monsters ‘Orange box’ release.  I hadn’t actually smoked any of them until October of 2013.  

 

 

Nose:

I picked up tons of pepper, wet cedar and earth.  There is a lot going on for the nose here.

Construction:

The Tatuaje Wolfie comes in a torpedo measuring  5 1/2” by 48 ring gauge.  The cigar is box pressed with a shaggy foot, which is an obvious nod to the character…

Review: Top 13 Reviewed Cigars of 2013

As 2013 comes to a close everyone is posting the top cigars for the year.  I didn’t review enough exclusively released cigars for the year to create such a list, so instead I will rank the best cigars I have reviewed.  There are a significant number of cigars that appear on other lists that don't appear on mine, simply because of the difficult of obtaining them in time to make this list.  No doubt they will make it for 2014.

Tatuaje Baby Face (2012 Little Monsters)

I purchased the Tatuaje Baby Face as a part of the 2012 Little Monsters ‘Orange box’ release.  I hadn’t actually smoked any of them until October of 2013.  

 

 

Nose:

I was able to detect sweet hay, barnyard and some lingering spices on a deep inhale.

Construction:

The Tatuaje Baby Face comes in a petit robusto measuring 4 3/8” by 50 ring gauge.  The foot is a loose / unfinished foot with a ‘band’ that is made up of an uneven…

Review: Tatuaje Lil’ Drac (2012 Little Monsters)

I purchased the Tatuaje Lil’ Drac as a part of the 2012 Little Monsters ‘Orange box’ release.  I hadn’t actually smoked any of them until October of 2013.  

 

 

Nose:

After careful nosing the only thing I was able to identify was cedar.

Construction:

The Tatuaje Lil’ Drac comes in a torpedo vitola measuring 5” by 48 ring gauge.  It is triple capped, and the wrapper is a dark black color with tooth present…

Review: Nomad Esteli Lot 1386 LE

I picked up a box of Nomad Esteli Lot 1386 LE when Fred Rewey, owner of Nomad Cigars, was on the June 27th CigarFederation.com Cigar Chat

 

 

Nose:

I was able to smell barnyard and the sweet scent of tobacco.

Construction:

The Nomad Esteli Lot 1386 LE comes in a Toro vitola, measuring 6” by 52 ring gauge.  Triple capped.

Pre-Release Review: Rocky Patel Private Cellar Robusto

This Rocky Patel Private Cellar Robusto was a pre-release cigar sent to me from CigarBrief from their "Roll Like a Blogger" contest.

 

 

Nose:

Black pepper and Spanish cedar were the two dominant things I could pick up here.
