My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 3/19/14

A slow couple of weeks in terms of smoking, but some solid cigars.  Really waiting for the weather to warm up here to take advantage of some good cigar smoking, but looks like we have a few more weeks for that.  For now, with Cigar March Madness in full swing, let's get to the good stuff.…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 3/4/14

Was actually a pretty productive couple of weeks for me as the weather broke in NJ for a few days and I got to get some smoking in.  With Spring around the corner, I'm hoping this blog becomes more active.  For now, with Cigar March Madness in full swing, let's get to the good stuff.…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 2/18/14

I should probably get around to changing the name of this blog - it seems that since winter started, I haven't been keeping to this Weekly thing very well.  Hopefully, with Spring less than 30 days away, I'll soon get back to my warm weather smoking routine and this blog will make more sense.  In the interim, as we have one of the worst winters in the NY area in memory, this will just be an occasional "short review" blog.  It is what it is... Let's get to the good stuff.…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 1/21/14

I should really call this "My Past 2 Weeks in Review" as I haven't posted since 1/7.  With the winter weather in full bloom here in NJ (and a foot of snow expected today), smoking has taken a backseat.  I'll post this as it makes sense to highlight cigars I think need some highlighting.  It will be sporadic, but it is what it is.  The real reviewers on Cigar Federation will keep you in the loop to give you your review fix.  With that out of the way, let's go through what I've enjoyed over…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 1/7/14

Its been a while since I last posted a Week in Review here - about a month and a half actually!  Through a combination of holidays, NJ winter weather and the Cigar Federation Top Cigars of 2013, I just chose to forego posting this blog, but I think its time to bring it back!  I've smoked a lot of cigars over the past several weeks so I won't highlight them all, but I'll pull a few interesting ones out to…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 11/20/13

Another week, another installment of My Week in Review.  The weather is getting a bit cooler here in NJ, and with the holidays approaching, it seems like my schedule is a bit crowded as well so I only got to experience 4 cigars this week - Psyko Seven from Ventura, Nat Sherman 1930, Nomad Esteli Lot 1386 and a Cuban San Cristobal de La Habana.  I was really trying to knock off some cigars that have been on my "To Smoke" list this week, and I'm glad I did.…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 11/12/13

Welcome to another installment of "My Week in Review".  All five cigars that I will discuss this week - Debonaire, BOTL 2013 Corona, Nica Rustica and the Tristans were brand new to me so it was an interesting week.  To be fair, I had smoked a Nica Rustica sample from IPCPR, but I found this to be a bit different.  Let's get into why...…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 11/6/13

Welcome to another installment of "My Week in Review".  Going to just dive right in here this week...

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 10/29/13

Welcome to another installment of "My Week (In Smoking) In Review"!  Been a bit since my last blog as it was my first wedding anniversary and then I've been traveling a lot lately, but this has allowed me to stop at some great shops (shoutout to Just For Him in Springfield, MO) and smoke some great cigars like the Vato Cuban Blend, La Palina Mr Sam and JD Howard Reserve.  Let's check my thoughts...…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 10/08/13

Welcome to another installment of "My Week (In Smoking) In Review"!  Seems every week I've done this over the past 6 months or so, I've smoked some great sticks, I've smoked some bad sticks, and I've smoked several sticks that just were.  This week is a bit unique as I went with 4 "name" brands and pulled out 4 winners!  Let's check my thoughts...

L'Atelier LAT46 Selection…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 10/01/13

The weather in NJ has been amazing since September hit - 70 degrees and sunny practically every day - but a busy work schedule and a 5-month old have not made cigar smoking easy.  My favorite time of year to get outside and enjoy a smoke, and I've only been able to grab a few sessions here and there.  Luckily, I was able to nail some really exceptional smokes this week (and one real clunker).  Let's get to my thoughts...…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 09/24/13

Another week, another set of reviews - all newer cigars to the marketplace.  Again, I emphasize how important and valuable it is to frequent your local B&M.  Not only are you supporting local, small businesses, but you never know who you will run into - two of this week's cigars were given to me by reps or owners who were in my local shop and offered me the opportunity to try their cigars.  Additionally, two of the others were put aside for me because my tobacconist knew I'd want to try…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 09/17/13

I apologize that my blogs have been becoming increasingly infrequent, but with some strict deadlines at work and a 5-month old at home, I just haven't had the time to sit down and smoke as much as I'd like - much less share my musings on what I've smoked.  In fact, I think there was a stretch of almost 10 days from late August through the first week of September where I just flat out didn't smoke a cigar.  Alas (who says that?), I have been able to partake in a few smokes over the past week…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 8/27/13

Long time no talk, Cigar Federation!  Between my blog about Black Label Trading Company, a family vacation, and working on planning and promoting Cigar Federation's Raffle for Project Manana, I've been a bit busy lately, and, thus, haven't posted as many reviews as I would have liked.  Today, I'm going to…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 08/06/13

I still wouldn't dare refer to myself as a reviewer, but I've been sharing my thoughts on cigars I've smoked via this blog for a couple of months now, and I can't remember a week I've had with such great construction and ashes ever.  Each cigar I smoked provided a great experience that was only magnified by the stellar construction and long ashes that were produced.  I'll detail my thoughts on each, but please click on the links and see what was a week - albeit a slower week - with some nice…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 07/23/13

I've been going through a really good stretch over the past few months - despite being a new, first time father, I've had enough free time to enjoy at least 5 cigars a week, and typically many more.  Unfortunately, a streak of good luck, good weather and free time came to an end this week as I was only able to get out 3 times this week.  (Side note - this isn't completely true.  I know for a fact that I smoked a Herrera Esteli Lonsdale Club and a Camacho Triple Maduro Robusto at the very…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 07/16/13

Back with another Week in Review.  The rest of the CigarFed crew is out in Vegas for the show, but I'm here holding down the fort this year so I've tried to pull out a mix of cigars that are new to me coupled with some that are really some favorites of mine.  Let's get into it.

Litto Gomez Small Batch No. 4 - My good buddy Kyle gifted me…

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 07/9/13

I apologize for not giving a "Week in Review" last week.  I was in Springfield, MO a couple of weeks ago for work and it really impacted my smoking time.  I was actually supposed to go to one of my favorite shops - Just For Him - for the anniversary of their Torcido Cigar line, but, unfortunately, work just consumed me and I didn't even get the chance to do that. …

My Week (In Smoking) In Review - 06/25/13

Been a busy week for me in terms of cigar smoking and life, and the week ahead doesn't get much easier.  I'm writing this blog entry from 36,000 feet in the air as I journey to Springfield, Missouri for a bit of work, and potentially Just For Him Shop's 1 year celebration of Twisted Cigars.  I imagine my smoke intake this week will be minimal as I'm really stuck in…
