This La Aurora Barrel Aged Robusto has been sitting in my humidor since November of 2012. Sadly this is another stick that I failed to track the originating source of.
The nose on this smells of rich fermented tobacco with a hint of Spanish cedar. I ended up spending several minutes taking in the aromas here before I finally toasted and lit up.
I reviewed the La Aurora Barrel Aged in a…Continue

I received this Alec Bradley Connecticut Robusto in the Alec Bradley, Willy Wonka styled 3-cigar box, at the AB Party in Las Vegas this year. I thought it was a genius little bit of marketing, and since it was a handout at a cigar event, and not a retail item, I saw no issues with it. I was able to get a second box that I have kept intact.

We will be posting the videos from Episode 75 with Pete Johnson. This was one of the most enjoyable shows for all three segments - especially our Mount Rushmore segment.
But we did get a lot of breaking news from 2014 from Tatuaje. Some of the info is still needed to be finalized, but Pete shared quite a bit. We have a write-up and a video for now. This video will be added to Cigar Federation as well.…

It’s Thanksgiving Eve, and I’m sure most of my US readers are getting ready for a nice turkey dinner tomorrow. Don’t forget to pick out some great cigars to smoke after dining with family. A big Happy Thanksgiving from CigarCraig.com!
I’ve been smoking some new, but familiar to me cigars this week. It’s gotten wintry cold around here and I wanted to smoke some cigars that I knew wouldn’t get lost in the frigid outside conditions. Sunday I picked out a …Continue

So, we're going to step out of our comfort zone a bit here, but I think its okay. Typically on Cigar Federation, we talk about cigars - makes sense. Today, however, we're expanding our horizons a bit into men's health while I talk about the Braun °CoolTec Shaver. Now, there is totally a reason for this divergence - a couple of weeks ago, I received the Braun…Continue

Back again for another installation of mini cigar reviews. This time around, I really had some gems that stood out to me. Two of these will be in my rotation for quite some time now.
Drew Estates Papas Fritas 4.5X44: I must admit, I shied from ever trying this cigar due to the short filler versus price. That was a huge…Continue
After beginning the week with three less than satisfying cigars, I decided Thursday called for a high probability, sure thing smoke. I’d had my eye on a Reinado Grand Empire Reserve Petite Lancero that Reinado emperor Antonio Lam had given me at the IPCPR show. This size is limited, only about 10, 000 of these were made and my example lacked the GER secondary band. I have had exceptional experiences with the Reinado brand, and count…Continue

Ortega Premium Cigars will be releasing a series of four retail exclusive cigars called "The South Eastern" series. These will have a feel of a "Wild Bunch" series. The first is the Big Red Machine going to Tobacco World in Marietta, Georgia. We have the details here:
Billed by Altadis USA as “the most robust Montecristo yet,” the MONTE’s selling point is actually the application of dual binders. From the Montecristo website: “The MONTE’s signature feature is the inclusion of two binders: a spicy Dominican Olor combined with a strong and aromatic Nicaraguan Corojo which adds strength, firmness and…Continue
I picked up the Brick House Mighty Mighty Maduro Gordo from Atlantic Cigar along with some other singles I had been meaning to review. This had been resting in my humidor since August of 2013.
The nose on this Brick House is really engaging. Barnyard, cedar, coffee and vanilla combine to leave you eager to light up.
This Brick House Mighty…Continue

I have to mix things up a little bit from time to time, so before I get into the cigars I’ve enjoyed on my evening walks, I’d like to share a couple of opportunities to be charitable. The first item I’d like to share is fromOriginaBOS.com. Balls of Steel is an ice alternative for those of you who enjoy chilled spirits. Fifteen percent of the proceeds go toward testicular cancer research. I don’t drink, but I do…Continue

Another week, another installment of My Week in Review. The weather is getting a bit cooler here in NJ, and with the holidays approaching, it seems like my schedule is a bit crowded as well so I only got to experience 4 cigars this week - Psyko Seven from Ventura, Nat Sherman 1930, Nomad Esteli Lot 1386 and a Cuban San Cristobal de La Habana. I was really trying to knock off some cigars that have been on my "To Smoke" list this week, and I'm glad I did.…Continue
