Review: Viva Republica Edicion Limitada Culebra

The Viva Republica Culebra is limited to 1000 coffins and I was lucky enough to get my hands on one.  I think the CigFed store will have a few in stock soon as well, but don't quote me on that.  Check out the press release form Viva Republica for all the details on this release.

One of the main reasons I was excited about this review was because the LE…

Guest Reviews: The Brick by Toraño and Viaje Exclusivo

As you may or may not know, my father, Paul Vanderslice, passed away on Thursday morning, he would have been 81 today.  I am honored to present not one, but two reviews from honorary Craigs today. These two gentlemen generously lent their talents to give me a day off, which I greatly appreciate. The upside for you, the reader, is that you are treated to some actual cigar reviews. :-)  My dad was a career music educator, US Navy veteran, lover of baseball and…

Review: Cubanacan Habano

I've been trying to think if I have tried any Cubanacan to date, and I can't think of any. So, I am going into this without any prior opinions on what to expect. The looks are top notch and I'm a sucker for a torpedo. And this one looks amazing. I'm ready to get going.

FedHead Location Map. For Fun & Bombing Alike!

I know we all wonder where these other FedHeads are from at some time or another. We talk about it in the chat a lot, but forget that soon enough. Well, here's a solution for all those that wish to participate. I've created an interactive ZeeMap just for this. I've used these on other forums and they are interesting. I'm the admin and have to approve all entries, but this is just to keep it from getting spammed. You can create your own location, using the instructions below, or I can also do…

Review: Drew Estate Central Park Stroll

I think it's fair to say that the Drew Estate Central Park Stroll was the first pipe tobacco that really got my attention.  I was exposed to all the DE pipe tobaccos (made by Scandinavian Tobacco Group) during IPCPR 2014, but I didn't really sit down and fire up a bowl for a few months.  As luck would have it, the first tin of DE pipe tobacco that I opened was the Central Park Stroll.…

RomaCrafts, Perdomo and a Contest Winner

It’s been a roller coaster week, and things aren’t any better today than Wednesday. My 80-year-old father drove himself to the hospital last Saturday with tightness in his chest and just not feeling right, and on Wednesday, just when my mom thought she was going to bring him home,  they found a thoracic aortic aneurysm and flew him to another hospital in the area…

Review: Nestor Miranda Collection Maduro (Red)

To close out my reviews on the Nestor Miranda Collection, it's going to be the Maduro. I'm a big maduro fan and this one has a lot to keep up with after the first two. Especially that Habano, the Connecticut was good but that Habano is still winning. Let's see what happens.

La Sirena Cigars Contest!

I’ve had some unexpected family issues arrive which require my attention so instead of my regular Wednesday post you’ll have to settle for a contest. I’m sure you all will cut me some slack. The giveaway this time is sponsored by my friends and site sponsors at La Sirena Cigars. The prize is a sampler of cigars from the La Sirena portfolio: there’s a couple of the new Oceano, a Stixx, a Jaxx, a Jaxx LT, a Merlion, a new La Sirena Trident, and I’ll probably include an old La Sirena…

Fratello Cigars at The Outlaw Cigar Company: I love this place.

A lot of you have seen me go on and on about The Outlaw Cigar Company in Kansas City - how big, fun, awesome it is. I've even posted pictures.  Finally I got the opportunity to actually record an Outlaw party for the record.

Kendall Culbertson, owner of The Outlaw, as he puts it, "promotes the cigar lifestyle", Kansas-Cowboy style.  The store, with its 1500 square foot walk-in humidor, two separate 3-TV lounge areas (one available to rent out for parties, including the poker table),…
