Natural corona Dominican puro from a tiny little ranch in the mountains near Higuey, Rancho Real. Smooth medium, very Cuban-esque, with a familiar Dominican peaty Scotch flavor left on the palate, though that dark grey ash was a little surprising. You can get small boxes and samplers while you're there, but if you want to order any, you have to order direct in bundles of 50! It's tasty enough that I've been tempted.

I can't say that I have heard of it. Is it a house blend?

Yes, definitely a house blend. In fact, they have exactly one buncher/wrapper pair, which, of course, you get to watch when you come in to the shop.  Hand rolled, rested for 3 months before packaging.  They have a swimming pool and a nice little bar, and they sell a handful of other cigar brands in their shop, all Dominican as far as I could tell, but theirs were available in 5 packs and boxes in the shop, or phone/email order in bundles of 50.  Little tiny place up in the mountains, growing coffee, cacao, mangoes, and tobacco. I didn't get to ask if they use some or all of their own tobacco, or if they bring in more, but it was a fun visit.  Every little hole in the wall cigar shop in the DR seems to roll their own house blend. I just happened to get a chance to buy some of these.
