How many of you use Cigar Cartel or CATS on Facebook? What do you like about it? Any feedback is appreciated.

I like the amount of active persons in the groups. But I really don't like fb groups. It takes forever to try to find something posted even your own. And you just might not ever find it if it's been a while.

Just like any cigar community the commraderie is there to some extent. I don't like the facebook thing, no offense to the groups I'm apart of, it's just facebook.

I agree 100% with this, I belong to a bunch, but my go to is Cigar Cartel....what I like about them is there are not a lot of fanboys like Cats. I dig the auctions, even though I don't participate yet I like the way the auction is.

I smell Logan is thinking of starting a FB group for cfed.

Ohh you can read me like a book. I have started it, but it is private. I started it so I could make sure to get the name Cigar Federation. I have been looking at Fans of CO and Cigar Cartel and noticed they have a shit ton of members. Not that we at CF need more members we have about 4k and for what we are it is the second highest next to BOTL.

If we do make it open and try to take it on I will really need to think through about how is to the same as CF, different from CF, how can it funnel people here, etc.

I 100% agree it is very hard to find old posts. You said you liked having a lot of people there. Do you think it gets to be too much to have 10,000 people in the group like Cigar Cartel?

That many would be cumbersome

It has its pros and cons. Honestly I'm not that active on the fb groups myself. If there was a post minimum I'd probably get kicked out, but no reason to leave as I do checl them out from time to time. I think the biggest thing I don't like about the fb stuff is drama, what appears to be drama, or an announcement by mods on how they dealt with drama and those folks are no longer around, which to me its still just drama.

I'm about to drop most Facebook Groups. I find them annoying, petty, cliquish, redundant and trivial.

I'm almost right there as well.....I rarely look at most of them, just Cigar Cartel

What if CF had a CF group?

Then it'd be redundant, and I might have to add "childish" to the list

What I really dislike are the people that pop on and post their selfies to EVERY DAMN GROUP. Now I've got some old guy, that smokes crap I'm not even remotely interested in, blowing up in my facebook news feed 17 times and clogging up my notificiations...

Honestly, it's stupid, marketing-wise, not to have one. However, the social aspect of this website would, IMO, make the facebook group redundant. Where do you want CFed activity? On the site or on facebook?

Hear hear....that does drive me crazy......I used to do it then realized how bad it looks when I received others, so I quit and just post to one.

I definitely wouldn't call it redundant if there was different goal of the group that didn't cannibalize here. I am a marketing guy so I definitely see it from this angle.

I want people here but I want to cast more nets to grow the community. If we 2,000 non CF members in the group and convert them to say 20% of the time that is 400 new members for here.
